Recruitment of candidates to Army, Navy, and Air force wings of the National defense Academy (NDA), is through National Defense Academy Entrance exam which is held of April and September.A candidate must be an Unmarried male.The candidate joining Indian Naval Academy would be given an opportunity to join executive and technical branches of the Navy subject to availability of vacancies.


CDS (Combined Defence Services)

The “Combined Defence Services” (CDS) Examination is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment into the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy. Only unmarried graduates are eligible to sit for the exam.



The Merchant Navy is a non-combatant commercial fleet, which deals with transporting cargo and occasionally, Passengers, by sea. Its fleet is therefore composed of vessels (ships) such as Passenger vessels (called liners/cruisers), cargo liners (also called bulk carriers) which carry cargo or oil tankers (called tankers),

AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test)

AFCAT stands for Air Force Common Admission Test. This test is conducted by the Indian Air Force for selection of officers in all branches of the IAF (except medical and dental)AFCAT is conducted twice a year (in the month of February and August).


ACC (Army Cadet College)

The Army Cadet College Wing trains soldiers from the regular army,navy and air force for commission as Officers in the [Indian Army].The added advantage that the ACC cadets bring to the Army as officers are a deep understanding of the soldier life and a consequently better appreciation of the tasking of the men.
